====  city Structure ====

Also reverence city article http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/ftr/20121019 for ideas on how to build/describe the city.

The original city was founded on a tributary entering the river with several houses that were built with no wall, as a small fishing and foraging village close to the water. It then grew with large number of houses being added and a wooden wall which was torn down for expansion. Then it grew out of the original wall into a larger settlement with a 2nd wall where the old city is off to one side as topography made sense.As guilds came after city growth continued they build outside old city and then had rest of the city grow around them as they have had money and people.

As a result of the forest wars (60-81) that destroyed large parts of the old city, most of the buildings were rebuilt with field or river stone, later building had quarried stone brought in from further away. Buildings were built to replace ones that were lost in the same place and style.

Today the city has 3 walls, 2 inner ones that are now just historical landmarks and the external one that is for the actual defence. There is some sprawl outside the walls, mostly on the river side (not toward the farmlands), those are is mostly warehouses and supporting structures some in and some outside the walls

The city grew as needed with urban planning only coming to play after the Xillion event
